The FVP,prime minister,first lieut,Gen/ Bakri Hassan Saleh confirmed the support of the State for the activities of the Sudanese playwrights and the role they play in promoting the cultural work in the country.
This came in a meeting with his office on Sunday September 2, 2018 in the Council of Ministers, Mr. Tayeb Hassan Badawi, Minister of Culture and the delegation of theatrical academics, where they discussed the results of the workshop of writing the history of theatrical movement in the country last month and the future of the relationship with the Arab Theater Authority supporting the workshop.
The Minister of Culture said in a press statement that the First Deputy had agreed to be a sponsor of the National Theater Festival which will be held in Khartoum next November along with a number of other cultural programs and projects. He pointed out that the meeting touched upon the path of liquidation of the Sennar project as the capital of Islamic culture. The first deputy also listened to a report on the performance of the National Library sponsored by the President of the Republic and supervised by the First Vice President of the Republic, in addition to the current arrangements for the 14 th session of the Khartoum International Book Fair.
