Minister of State for Welfare confirms the government's keenness on the issues of the disabled people
Minister of State for Welfare and Social Security Ibrahim Adam Ibrahim stressed the state's keenness and interest in the highest levels of sovereign and executive issues of the PWD and facilitate their role and participation in social life and development and enjoy equality and improve their living conditions.
This came during a speech on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. The workshop discussed the draft of the National Disability Strategy (2018-2030) Organized by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in cooperation with the National Council for Strategic Planning, with the participation of PWDs and planning directors of relevant ministries and national bodies.
The National Disability Strategy aims at establishing legislative structures to protect persons with disabilities, enhancing the role of mechanisms working in the field of disability and developing partnerships with regional and international institutions and civil society organizations.
It Mentioned that the workshop comes within the framework of the final version of the National Strategy for Disability, which is expected to be approved by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities Headed by the First Vice-President of the Republic and the Prime Minister at his next meeting
