First Vice President of the Republic Prime Minister General psc Bakri Hassan Salih has paid a field visit on Monday 16/April/2018 to the sugar warehouses of Kinana Sugar Company and the Sudanese Sugar Company .
He was accompanied in his visit by heads of the Ministerial sectors and the Ministers of the Council of Ministers, Finance & Economic Planning , Commerce, State Minister at the Council of Ministers , Jamal Mahmoud, State Minister at the Ministry of Industry Abdu Dawoud , Acting Secretary General of the Council of Ministers , Osman Hussein .
The First Vice President and his accompanying delegation were reassured during the visit on the position of sugar produce in the country.
Minister of Finance & Economic Planning Gen. Dr, Mohamed Osman Al Rikabi has announced in a press statement that the quantities of sugar available in the warehouses of the national companies will be supplied to the low price sale centers , at the capital city , the states, the cooperatives, trade unions for maintaining the stability of sugar commodity and reducing its price.
He further outlined that the quantity of sugar available in the companies warehouses will contribute to reducing sugar prices at the markets.
Meanwhile the Minister of Commerce Hatim Al Sir elaborated that the available quantities of sugar will satisfy the need of country up to the end of the current year noting that there is a real sufficiency of sugar from the domestic and imported production .
On his part State Minister at the Ministry of Industry said the visits by the First Vice President and the accompanying delegation comes for getting reassured on the quantity of the available sugar produce and the preparedness of the companies to enter the new season.
He pointed out that the produced quantities of sugar by the national factories is enough for the country during the holy month of Ramadan and post-Ramadan period at reasonable prices announcing that his ministry will supply over 2 million tons of sugar during the coming couple of days a matter which reduce prices
Meanwhile the President of Sudan Workers Trade Unions Federation, Engineer Yousif Ali Abdulkarim said he will work on distributing 745 thousand sacks of sugar during the coming period to the employees across the country
