The Economic Development Sector clarifies the means of treatment of the Port-Sudan water problem

The Economic Development Sector at the Council of Ministers, chaired by The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, held a meeting on Wednesday and reviewed a report on urgent, medium and long-term solutions to the Port-Sudan water problem.

 

The report, which was presented by the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, clarified the means of immediate treatment of the Port-Sudan water problem, through the possibility of renting a barge (a mobile water desalination plant), as well as completing the new desalination plant

The report also showed projects of the medium and long-term solutions, pointing to the importance of implementing a project to provide water services from the Nile to the Red Sea State to address the problem radically.

 

The meeting stressed the need to provide the necessary funding to address the drinking water problem in Port-Sudan on time and urgently.
