Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk received at his office Monday a delegation of the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), led by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sudan and Head of the Mission, Mr. Volker Perthes. During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his thanks to the UNITAMS delegation for their visit to east Sudan, which helped to develop the dialogue on reaching solutions to the problem of east Sudan in general.
The meeting discussed the visit of the UNITAMS delegation to eastern Sudan, the current political situation and the role that the United Nations can play in supporting the transition process in the country.
During the meeting, the delegation of the mission showed understanding on the problem of east Sudan in light of the meetings held with many components in the east.
The meeting tackled the current political situation and efforts to get out of the current crisis.
