The Council of Ministers has issued a press statement expressing its appreciation for the stance of the international community and friendly and sisterly countries towards the failed coup attempt.

“Press Statement by the Transitional Council of Ministers,
The Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers are following with great interest and appreciation the statements of condemnation, denunciation and support that have been coming in from various brotherly and friendly countries, and various international, continental and regional organizations, since yesterday, after the failed military coup attempt, which was thwarted by the collaboration and solidarity of the various forces of our people from the forces of revolution and change and patriots of members and leaders of the regular forces.
The Council of Ministers would like to express its appreciation for the statements of condemnation and support issued by the United Nations, the United States of America, the European Union, the African Union, the League of Arab States, the Troika, IGAD, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain and Republic of Yemen.
The Prime Minister also received calls and messages denouncing the coup and affirming support for the democratic transition in the country, from the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, Mohamed Abdullah Farmajo, President of the Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Bazoum, President of the Republic of Niger, and Ms. Vicky Ford, Minister of African Affairs in the United Kingdom. Dr. Hamdok also received a message from his Ethiopian counterpart, Dr. Abiy Ahmed.
The international and regional partners agreed to condemn the failed coup attempt, which was targeting the aspirations and hopes of the Sudanese people for democratic transition, freedom, peace and justice, affirming their full support for Sudan and its people in order to preserve its sovereignty, unity and security, renewing their support for the institutions of the transitional government and its efforts to achieve stability and development that our people aspire for.
The US State Department statement expressed the efforts of the US Administration and various partners to mobilize great support to help Sudan achieve its economic and security goals."
