Technical Committee of Prime Minister’s Initiative Holds First Meeting

The technical committee of the Prime Minister’s Initiative (National Crisis and Transition Issues: The Way Forward) held its first meeting today (Saturday) at the Council of Ministers, headed by its chairman Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Fadlalla Burma.

In a press statement, the spokesperson of the committee, Rasha Awad Abdalla, said that based on the meeting of the first national initiative mechanism in the Friendship Hall on August 25, agreement was reached to divide members of the mechanism into a number of specialized committees to make recommendations on each of the axes of the Prime Minister’s initiative on issues democratic transition.

She said that the national mechanism agreed to add two committees other than the seven axes committees, namely the technical committee and the committee to expand the mechanism by adding women and youth.

Rasha explained that in today's meeting of the technical committee, it was agreed to choose the chairman and rapporteur of the technical committee, and it also began to set its agenda.

 The technical Committee also approved its executive role among the various committees, and decided to hold its meetings periodically, starting from next Monday.
