Cabinet Affairs Minister Affirms Government Concern with Civil Service Reform

The Minister of the Cabinet Affairs, engineer Khalid Omer, stressed that the civil service reform is one of the most important priorities of the transitional government.

This came when he chaired Wednesday at the Council of Ministers Wednesday a meeting of the higher committee for the civil service reform project, in the presence of the Ministers of Labor and Administrative Reform and Communications and Digital Transformation, the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Federal Government and Labor and Administrative Reform, the Advisor of the Prime Minister for Governance and Administrative Reform and representatives of concerned organs.

The meeting reviewed the decision issued by the Prime Minister on formation of the committee and its tasks and jurisdiction which include supervising and following up on progress of the service reform project in cooperation with the International Development Agency and the Investment Company in addition to supervising the formation of executive work teams in all national and state ministries.

The committee called for the formation of a national technical work team to undertake coordination with the external work team, and stressed the need for specific standards and criteria and high efficiency in the members of the national work team.
