The Prime Minister and current chairman of the IGAD, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, has affirmed the continuation of work to hold a conference for the internally displaced of the Republic of South Sudan under the leadership of Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan with international participation, explaining that addressing the problem of displacement is a key to security and stability in South Sudan.
This came when he met at Pyramids Hotel in Juba with the Vice – President of the Republic of South Sudan, Rebecca Garang.
Hamdouk and Rebecca have discussed the bilateral relations between Sudan and South Sudan and ways of cementing them for the interest of the two brotherly peoples.
They also discussed the strategy for dealing with the displacement and the return of refugees and displaced persons to South Sudan State.
Rebecca Garang has revealed a plan to establish return villages for the displaced citizens in South Sudan in the Upper Nile, Equatorial and Jongli States.
