Hamdok announces cancellation of decisions of establishing Kajbar and Dal Dams

Prime Minister Dr. Abbdalla Hamdok has announced cancellation of major dam projects, including that of Dal and Kajbar.

Dr. Hamdok made the announcement in an address to the citizens of the area before the monument of Kajbar Martyrs at Kidendtkar area as part of his visit to the Northern State.

Dr. Hamdok expressed pleasure over visiting the area, affirming that the the government of the revolution has come to fulfill the desires of its citizens.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the areas of north Sudan had suffered like other areas of Sudan from marginalization, saying that it is high time these areas have their share of development.

 The mass rally was also addressed by Wali (governor) of Northern State Prof. Amal Mohamed Izz-Eddin, affirming keenness of the government of the state on coming to the citizens at their areas to hear their issues.

Representatives of the citizens of the area and the committees agaist establishments of the dams spoke at the ouset of the rally, calling for meeting their legitimate demands, including bringing justice for the martyres of the area.
