The PRIME MINISTER MEETS WITH EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs
The FVP first let Gen,prime minister Council of Ministers Bakri Hassan Saleh,confims the readiness of the Government of the Sudan to cooperate with the international community in the field of investment and economic partnerships and welcomed to the meeting on Sunday, October 22, 2017, his office of the Council of Ministers of the European Union Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Mr. Christos in the presence of Mr., minister of state for the foreign ministry, Ambassador Atta Al Mannan Bakhit, the declaration of the European Union to open a new page of cooperation with Sudan, focusing on the areas of development.
The minister of state for the foreign ministry said in a statement to the press that the meeting dealt with the positive developments on the level of political and humanitarian affairs in Sudan, indicating that Mr. Chairman of the prime minister announced the Sudan welcomed also the desire of European companies to invest in Sudan.
On his part, EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs of the Union's contribution in the amount of (106) million euros to Sudan to meet the needs of those affected by natural disasters in the country, appreciating the increased role of the Government of the Sudan to facilitate the access of humanitarian assistance to those in need and those affected, as the price also the government's effort to host a large number of refugees from south Sudan, praising the cooperation of the government in the open corridors to assist in the delivery of relief to the victims of the state of the South.
Humanitarian affairs commissioner confirmed that the Union relies on the igad initiative and the role of the Sudan in the stability and solving the issue of southern Sudan.
