The National Mechanism for Civilian Protection (NMPC)has concluded visit to the states of Darfur, with an inspection visit to South Darfur State.
The Interior Minister, head of the (NMPC), Lieutenant General Ezz El-Din Al-Sheikh, held meeting with the state security committee, on which the delegation was briefed on the security situation, the implementation of the axes of the national plan for the protection of civilians in the state, and the support for women in the displaced camps.

The security committee of south Darfur state issued statement indicating that its meeting with the (NMPC) asserted the development of a plan that fits the state’s requirements in coordination with the mother mechanism in Khartoum.
The statement noted to the Interior Minister’s indication on the importance of forming a strategic planning unit in the state, which is concerned with developing plans and strategies regarding the implementation of civilian protection programs.
The (NMPC) delegation met also with the state’s regular components, visited Al-Serif camp, and met with the representatives of the traditional administration briefing them on the objectives and axes of the mechanism and its importance for achieving peace and the voluntary return to the villages.
