National Mechanism for Protection of Civilians’ delegation concludes a visit to Northern Darfur State
A delegation of the National Mechanism for Protection of Civilians, led by Minister of Interior and head of the mechanism Gen. (police) Izz-Eddin Al-Shiekh, has concluded an inspection tour to North, Central and South Darfur States.
A press release by the mechanism pointed out that the delegation started its tour by visiting North Darfur State, where they met with the Wali (governor) of the state and its security committee, where the delegation heard a briefing on implementation of the national plan for the protection of civilians.
The delegation also paid a field visit to the premises that has been allocated to be the headquarters of the force for the protection of civilians in Al-Fashir town, where they got acquainted with preparation for the reception of the forces.
Meanwhile, the delegation also met with UNAMID mission and heard a briefing on the process of handing over the mission’s camps in accordance with the set plan.
The delegation of the National Mechanism for Protection of Civilians also paid an inspection visit to Abu-Shouk Camp, where they met with the inhabitants of the camp and native administration and discussed work of the mechanism.
