Dr. Hamdouk reviews the efforts of Silaati program to provide goods during the holy month of Ramadan

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, affirmed that the government of the transitional period will continue to provide basic goods to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, through (My Commodity) Silaati program, which aims to reduce the burden of living and provide basic commodities to all states of Sudan. This came when chaired the of Slate Program for the holy month of Ramadan, which included the Ministers of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade, and Social Development, the Governor of the Bank of Sudan and the Director of Silaati (Commodity) Program


The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gabriel Ibrahim, said in a press statement, that the meeting focused on the arrangements and steps taken by the Commodity Company to provide the needs of the holy month of Ramadan to relieve the citizens, indicating that his ministry has provided the basic sums that support the project to provide a Ramadan basket at reasonable prices that the citizen can obtain compared to market prices. Adding that the necessary financial guarantees for my commodity project will be provided. Dr. Jibril said that the target number for this project is about 2 million families during the current stage, calling on the states to contribute to the program, each according to his needs


It worth noting that the Silaati program has so far succeeded in reaching the eighteen states in the country since its launch, as the project aims to reach two million families during the current period with a value of 20 billion pounds. Professor Mujahid Ali the program director, confirmed that it will be a coordination between the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Bank of Sudan, the Ministry of Federal Governance, The Ministry of Social Development represented by the Zakat Bureau, the Social Security Investment Authority and the Poverty Commission, in addition to discussing the creation of partnerships with international organizations concerned in food security issues
