Cabinet Minister Affirms Government Concern with Issue of University Student Assassination and Arrest of Killer

The Cabinet Affairs Minister, Khalid Omer Yousif, has affirmed the state’s concern with providing an appropriate study and housing environment for the higher education students in the country, indicating that higher education students are the fuel and spark of the December Revolution.

This came during his visit to the scene of the murder of the student Abdulaziz Al-Saddiq Mohamed, who was killed on Monday by criminals in the campus of Omdurman Islamic University, accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. (police) Izz-Eddin, Sheikh Ali, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Intisar Al-Zain Seghiroun.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister referred to the Prime Minister's concern with this issue and his stress on the police agencies to pursue the culprits, identify them and to bring them to justice.

The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Izz-Eddin Sheikh Ali, stated that the Police Forces will intensify their investigations to arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the students of Omdurman Islamic University have presented a number of demands to the ministerial delegation, which included the change of the university guards, comprehensive security for all university entrances and fencing it, unification of university entrances, removing the university's defunct regime elements, preventing the crossing of transportation inside the university, removing shanty housing, securing neighboring areas and establishing a police station in the university area.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister pledged that these demands will be implemented
