As part of the visit of the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, to Saudi Arabia, the joint ministerial committee between Sudan and Saudi Arabia held a meeting Wednesday, co-chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Prof. Al-Taher Mohamed Ismail Harbi, and the Saudi Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Water, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli,
In a press statement, Prof. Al-Taher revealed that the meeting touched on the issue of agriculture in important points represented in the Public Investment Fund in Saudi Arabia and the projects it previously implemented in Sudan, as well as addressing to the obstacles and encouraging the investment in future projects.
The Minister of Agriculture stated that an agreement was reached to provide reports on all the investment projects in various fields and the economic activities in Sudan, so as to be presented in a joint meeting with the Saudi Chamber of Commerce and Investment for approving and implementing these projects.
On his part, the Minister of Animal Resources, Hafez Ibrahim Abdul-Gani, has affirmed Sudan readiness to meet the need of Saudi Arabia for meat, pointing to the reactivation of the joint protocol between the two countries in this regard.
He explained that he agreed with his Saudi counterpart Wednesday to overcome all difficulties that hinder the exports of livestock, calling on the Saudi side to invest in developing and establishing modern slaughter-houses that meet the needs of the global market and settling vaccines factories.
He said that, the two sides stressed the importance of benefiting from technology and expertise of the two countries to enhance the fish sector and to achieve a qualitative progress and strategic partnership in order to maximize the benefit for the two countries in this sector.
