Formation of New Government Announced
The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, Monday evening announced formation of the new government which is composed of 25 ministers, excluding the Ministry of Education.
The list of the new ministers was endorsed by the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, included the following:-
Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen. Yassin Ibrahim as the Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. (police) Izz-Eddin Al-Sheikh as the Minister of Interior, Khalid Omer Yousif as the Cabinet Affairs Minister, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim as the Minister of Finance, Obeid Ahmed Al-Nagib as the Minister of Health, Hamza Balol as the Minister of Information, Dr. Yousif Adam Al-Dhai as the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nasr-Eddin Abdul-Bari as the Minister of Justice, Dr. Intisar Al-Zain Seghairon as the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Al-Tahir Ismail Harbi as the Minister of Agriculture, Hafez Ibrahim as the Animal Resources, Prof. Yasser Abbas as the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Nasr-Eddin as the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Jadian Ali as the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Buthaina Ibrahim Dinar as the Minister of Federal Government, Mohamed Bashir Abu-Namu as the Minister of Mining, Ibrahim Al-Sheikh as the Minister of Industry, Ali Jiddu Adam Bashir as the Minister of Trade, Hashim Hassab-Al-Rasul as the Minister of Communications, Al-Hadi Mohamed Ibrahim as the Minister of Investment, Tausig Al-Nurani as the Minister of Labor, Muttasim Ahmed Salih as the Minister of Social Development, Mirghani Musa Hamad as the Minister of Transport, Abdalla Yaia as the Minister of Urban Development,
The Prime Minister said that the he criteria for choosing this government was focused on the qualification, the experience, commitment and the capability to face the challenges of the stage, as well as the integrity.
Hamdouk stressed that the new government included new ministries toward enhancing the economy and production, affirming the need to focus in the coming period on the investment and production to solve the economic crisis.
