Hamdouk Informed on Efforts to Patch up Rift in Social Fabric in Kassala State

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, received in his office Wednesday the Wali (governor) of Kassala State, Al-Tayeb Mohamed Al-Sheikh, and got informed on the situation in the state following the recent incident there.

In a press statement, the Wali (governor) said that he informed the Prime Ministry on stability of the security conditions in Kassala State and contain of the tribal tensions and the continuing implementation of the reconciliation agreement.

He said that he also informed the Prime Minister on the situation in the state’s borders, especially with neighbor Ethiopia and influx of the refugees through Hamadayet crossing, adding that the Prime Minster called on the organization to speed up their efforts in this regard and stressed the importance of coordination with the different organs, especially the UNHCR, to complete the transference of all the refugees to the refugees camps of Um-Rakoba and Al-Tenaib in Gedarif State.

The Wali (governor) said that Kassala State is enjoying a good flow of the strategic commodities, especially fuel and wheat-flour, adding that the Prime Minister was informed also on resumption of the academic year in Kassala State and the situation at the Gash Agricultural Scheme.
