Hamdok affirms government’s concern with development of mining sector

Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok has affirmed concern of the state with development of the mining sector to boost the national economy and realize sustainable development in the country.

This came when the Prime Minister received at his office today a delegation of experts, in the presence of acting Minister of Energy and Mining Engineer Khairi Abdel-Rahman.

Engineer Khairi Abdel-Rahman said in a press statement the meeting discussed all axes concerning the mining sector in Sudan, especially as regard the policies and laws and importance of revision of the Mineral Resources Act, 2015, Regulations of Utilization of Minerals, 2019 and the laws that govern the relations between the center and the states.

The minister pointed out that the meeting enabled the experts to convey their points of view to the Prime Minister, who directed putting all of what has been discussed in the forms of recommendations in a way that enables benefitting from the knowledge of the experts in maximizing the revenues of mining to the country
