The Cabinet listens to a report on the security situation in the country

The Council of Ministers listen in its session today, to a report on the security situation presented by the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Tarifi Idris, who referred to the events resulting from the (Account Inventory) march called by the Resistance Committees, the procession presenting a number of demands to the Council of Ministers. The minister of the Interior pointed out that the State Security Committee, led by the Governor, followed up on the event and issued directives to open bridges and secure the march, the Minister confirmed that some breakouts had occurred, when some of the procession tried to enter the cabinet by force and violating security and safety measures and throw
 the security forces with stones and empty bottles, he also explained that the prosecutor issued a decision to deal with the march and use the gas and the appropriate force, the march was out of Peaceful, which led to the injury of some demonstrators, in addition to other losses, and the arrest of (21) demonstrators and the opening of communications
 
The Minister of Interior also referred to other incidents, including the burning of the Armory in Al-Shajarah on August 14, which resulted in the injury of an officer with the rank of lieutenant, in addition to two members of the Civil Defense Police. The report also indicated the arrival of joint forces from all the security services to the city of Port Sudan, the capital of the Red Sea State, which paved the way for a relative calm in the city, and pointed out to the calm of the security situation in Darfur and the great efforts made by the security forces in combating trafficking in foreign currencies
The Minister of Interior also referred to the effects of rain on homes and facilities, including the occurrence of (66) deaths, (25) injuries and the collapse of more than (16) thousand houses, in addition to the impact of facilities, shops, livestock and poultry
 
The Minister of Culture and Information, the official spokesperson for the government, explained that the council discussed the security report and instructed the necessity to take utmost caution and restraint when dealing with the breakups that occur during marches and processions and to deal with them in a manner that does not violate the right of the masses to peaceful demonstrations, and to limit the use of force to protect public facilities and personalities. Failure to resort to any use of force can have negative consequences
With the need for the police to continue monitoring and controlling performance, indicating that the council indicated the importance of dialogue with the resistance committees and the political incubator and assessing positions on how to address problems in the interest of the citizen in addition to addressing the economic crisis and confronting all crises more strictly, adding that the council emphasized the importance of the type of message that The police direct them to their affiliates in such events while building a new police force to bring about the required transformation from past practices.
