Manis meets with the Coordination of the Resistance Committees of Port Sudan
Minister of Cabinet Affairs Ambassador Omar Bashir Manis met today in his office at the Council of Ministers, Coordination of the Resistance Committees in Port Sudan, in the presence of the Director of the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Ali Bakhit, the meeting dealt with the situation in the eastern states, especially the situation in Port Sudan, the capital of the Red Sea State, and the government's efforts to restore security and stability.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs briefed the Youth Coordination of Resistance Committees on the roles of the Prime Minister and his meeting with political and civil entities and leaders in eastern Sudan, in addition to his call from the first moment of the events in Port Sudan to an urgent meeting of the Security and Defense Council, which was held on the same day and came up with decisions, most notably sending troops from the army, rapid support and Central reserve to the Red Sea State, beside forming a joint committee from the Sovereignty Council and the Council of Ministers to follow up the situation on the ground, noting in this regard that the Security and Defense Council will hold a meeting today to discuss the recommendations of that committee.
The minister pointed out to the efforts of the judicial and security agencies that managed to arrest a number of suspects in preparation for bringing those who prove their involvement to justice and trying them.
The coordination youth discussed during the meeting a number of important issues, the meeting assured to expand the circle of discussion about them with the concerned governors.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs called on youth to support the state’s efforts and programs aimed at rejecting racism and regionalism and promoting the values of citizenship and equality within the framework of the integration of official and popular efforts in a way that contributes to enhancing security and social peace in the three eastern states
