Manis chairs a meeting of the national mechanism for the protection of civilians

Minister of Cabinet Affairs, supervises of the National Mechanism for Civilian Protection Ambassador Omar Bashir Manis, chaired the mechanism’s meeting this afternoon at the Council of Ministers.

The meeting deliberated on the final arrangements for the joint workshop between the National Mechanism for the Protection of Civilians and the UNAMID Mission in Darfur, which arranged to be held on the thirteenth and fourteenth of August at Al Salam Hotel.

 

The workshop aims to confirm UNAMID's support for the transitional government in protection of civilians within the framework of the priorities set by the government according to the matrix it prepared. The workshop also discusses support for the government's efforts in the gradual exit of UNAMID with regard to its role in protecting a civilian body for the transitional government

 

The meeting stressed the need to arrange, organize and prepare well for the activities of the workshop in order to achieve its desired objectives and to intensify the media message in covering the activities of the workshop
