the Transitional Council of Ministers and representatives of the Central Council for Forces of Freedom and Change held today, a meeting headed by Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk to shed light on the government and the transitional cabinet’s preparations for participation in the Sudan’s Partners Conference to be organized by Germany in Berlin on the 25th of current June.
The Minister of Culture and Information, the spokesman of the government, Faisal Mohamed Saleh, noted in press statements that the conference is the result of a series of meetings that started in September 2019 for the preparation.
He indicated that the conference will held via the video conference technology due to the circumstances of the corona pandemic, noting that the conference will be held with the participation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the European Union Commission and the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the participation of a number of European and Arab foreign and financial ministers, and the international financial institutions (World Bank and International Monetary Fund).
Faisal pointed out that the meeting heard to a detailed review from the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi, on the conference, its goals, previous preparations and the general framework of the economic and social development plan in Sudan that the Sudan will present at the conference.
He added that the meeting discussed details about the goals of the plan and the means of its work, expecting significant economic contributions from the partners who previously have expressed intention to provide economic supports to assist the Sudan to overcome challenges of the current period, and to complete the transitional period and the democratic transformation.
