The Spokesman of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Information, Faisal Mohamed Salih, Thursday, noted after the cabinet meeting, that the meeting has reviewed the price control plan presented by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Medani Abbas Medani, and the prices’ problems.
Faisal added that the Minister of Industry and Trade presented a plan in which he stressed the necessity for clear and specified agreements for how to pay the value of the goods.
He explained the misunderstanding about the prices, and what the Ministry of Trade and Industry mentioned about the indicative prices, indicating that the state would not impose specific prices for producers, but it is involving the producers in the prices’ control, a matter which would help in the prices’ control and the reduction of influence of intermediaries, and that the distribution of goods will be through the cooperative societies, and the reduced sales centers.
Faisal pointed out to the measures that can be taken in case of imposing full curfew for dealing with the conditions of daily workers, such as craftsmen, food vendors and others, to compensate them for the suspension of work.
He also pointed out that the Council of Ministers has decided to hold an extraordinary meeting next Sunday to discuss the issue of distributing goods through cooperative societies or through reduced sales centers, and its delivery to the citizens, the discussion of the prices’ issue, in addition to a compensation plan for those who depend on daily work in the case of imposition of a complete curfew.
