US Secretary of State calls the Prime Minister, Dr. Hamdouk

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a  phone call with the Prime Minister Dr Abdallah Hamdouk on yesterday Wednesday evening.

 The  two sides  reaffirmed  importance of success of the transitional period in Sudan  and necessity of  going ahead  towards formation of the legislative council  and appointment of civilian (walis) governors.

 

 The US Secretary of State announced his country’s support the civilian transitional government’s efforts to achieve sustainable peace.

 The two sides discussed importance of  taking measures that would remove Sudan from  list of the state sponsors of terrorism and  that  the two sides sought ways  of combating the COVID-19 pandemic and development of the Sudan -US cooperation in  the battling against the virus
