The Prime Minister Dr Abdallah Hamdouk affirmed the government’s keenness to ward off the corona virus pandemic, saying by solidarity and cooperation of government and the Sudanese people and the world as a whole we can defeat this pandemic, which, he said, is the biggest disaster in the contemporary history.
In a statement to the Sudanese people Wednesday evening, Dr Hamdouk called the citizens to follow measures and advices issued by the Federal Health Ministry seriously and strictly, noting that those advices are sufficient to defeat the disease.
He stated that the recent measures taken by the government might seem have caused difficulty for citizens but those measures were for their protection, saying “we definitely consider suffering of people at border crossings and we have done as we can to take measures to lessen those sufferings. And with our solidarity and cooperation, governmental and people we will defeat the coronavirus disease.”
The Prime Minister urged citizens to stop huge masses of happy and sad ceremonies, saying renouncing these traditions temporary aims to defeat this disaster.
He appreciated huge efforts by the Sudanese philanthropists, national capitalists, private sector, youth of the revolution and all sectors of the Sudanese people to ward off this pandemic.
He said “this is a unique solidarity and we will continue in this cooperation with all to defeat this disease which, he explained, does not exclude any people or a nation and with other peoples of the world to defeat it.”
