Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk said he considered the USA a strategic partner that works with Sudan to overcome the challenge Khartoum is currently facing.
The prime minister on Sunday met at the Council of Ministers with the delegation of the US Treasury Department for combating Terrorim Financing led by the Assistant Secretary, Marshall Billingslea, in the attendance of the Cabinet Affairs Minister, Omar Manis and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Omar Gammar Edeen.
Dr. Hamdouk reiterated the Transitional Government keenness to realize just and comprehensive peace and the improvement of the economic situation, expressing proudness over the Sudanese model based on partnership between the civilians and militants to lay foundation for building strong democratic system in the country.
The meeting discussed the role can be played by the US in the context of assisting the Transitional Government to implement its priorities, especially, in peace and economy fields.
The US Treasury delegation for combating Terrorism, expressed pleasure over visiting Sudan, explaining that the financial and economic restrictions imposed on Sudan, were lifted.
The delegation asserted that revocation of Sudan’s name from the list of the countries sponsoring terrorism is a matter of time.
