Hamdouk’s tweets on the occasion of International Women’s Day

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, we recognize women’s incredible achievements as well as their daily challenges.

Sudanese women have always been resilient and inspirationally courageous amidst extremely challenging times. Often specifically targeted bearing the direct brunt of conflicts, violence and displacement under very harsh circumstances.
Their immense contribution to the December Revolution should never be forgotten. However, it was not their first or their last contribution to this country.
The Sudanese people are, forever, in debt to the powerful women of our country who have proven that their leadership entitles them to decision making power and political participation.
This year's theme is Equal for Equal and the transitional government understands that it is very far from reaching what is owed to women of their most fundamental rights across the country and we are committed to addressing this through meaningful law reforms & gender compliance  that equates the great role they continue to have. It is not lost on us that achieving this is necessary for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable transition in Sudan.
