Economic Development Sector reviews a report on the rehabilitation of the national road network

The Economic Development Sector of the Council of Ministers headed by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi reviewed in tis meeting today, Monday 1 March 2020 AD a report on the rehabilitation of the national road network and financing the construction of roads and bridges (public-private partnership) presented by the Minister of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport Mr. Hashim Abnaouf

The meeting assured the necessity to give priority to implementing road projects related to achieving peace, and those that contribute to supporting the country's economic development process, as they are among the most important priorities of the transitional period

 

The sector also stressed the importance of controlling partnerships between the public and private sectors, with the need to have guarantees that affirm the partners ’ability to finance, as long as the need for close supervision and follow-up on road and bridge projects, with tight coordination between all relevant authorities
