Cabinet decides to raise the concentrative price to purchase wheat
The Cabinet heard to a report from the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Eng. Issa Osman Sharif on the subject of reviewing the purchase of wheat, specially as wheat production is at the door
Mr. Faisal Mohamed Saleh, Minister of Culture and Information, said that the Cabinet decided to raise the Concentrated price for wheat purchase from 2,500 pounds for mobile to 3,000 pounds, indicating that the report indicated a significant increase in the productivity of this season and said that the increase in the price of the comes in the context of the state’s interest in encouraging farmers to increase production and productivity. He added that the targeted areas for wheat this season cultivation amounted to 780 thousand acres, explaining that the actual cultivation was in an area of 743 thousand acres, approximately 95%.
Faisal indicated that the report reviewed the current arrangements for the harvest season
Indicating that the report revealed some deficiencies in equipment, including combine harvesters and burlap, where committees were formed that work to supplement these deficiencies to make the harvest season success
In a related context, the Minister of Agriculture presented a report to the Cabinet on preparations for the upcoming agricultural season, which aims to increase cultivated areas and mills reform, as the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Irrigation to review irrigation work north of the Jazerah project because there are some areas north of the project complaining of thirst, indicating that the Minister of Irrigation stressed during the meeting on there is a plan to address thirst problems in these areas
The government spokesman said that the cabinet discussed the initiative launched by the great journalist Mahjoub Mohamed Saleh regarding mobilizing the popular effort to make the next agricultural season a success
