Hamdouk helds joint talks with Djibouti president

Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk reviewed during a joint session of talks here today between Sudan and Djibouti, co-chaired by Dr. Hamdouk and Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, development of the political situation in Sudan following the glorious December Revolution

Dr. Hamdouk pointed out to the efforts of the transitional government to overcome the challenges facing it through working for enhancing peace and security in the country by putting realization of comprehensive peace at the top of its priorities

The Prime Minister underscored promotion of relations with Djibouti, reviewing the plan of Sudan for its current presidency of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) which seeks to benefit from the visions and proposals of Djibouti in its capacity as the host country for the headquarters of the organization and within the existing coordination between the two countries

Dr. Hamdouk tackled the continuous consultations between the two countries on the security of the Red Sea in the context of the specialized council of the concerned countries and cooperation with Red Sea neighboring countries

Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, on his part, reaffirmed the deep-rooted relations of cooperation linking his country and the Sudan, referring to the historical and fraternal relations between the two countries which would be enhanced further in all fields

The Djiboutian President referred to the risks and challenges facing the area, noting that the visit of Dr. Hamdouk to his country avails and important opportunity to follow up the joint efforts of the two countries for coordination to address these challenges

President Guelleh affirmed keenness of his country on restoration of Sudan to its natural role in the regional, Arab and African arenas, lauding the efforts being exerted by the Sudan to surpass the current stage and boosting security and stability all over the country as well as realizing the aspirations of the sisterly Sudanese people, reaffirming support of Djibouti to Sudan in whatever boosts its stability and realizes prosperity for its people
