The Economic Development Sector reviews the agreement between Sudan and IFAD

The Economic Development Sector reviewed in its meeting today, Tuesday 28 January 2020, chaired by Mr. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badawi, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, the agreement between Sudan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) regarding the establishment of a country office for the fund presented by Mr. / Issa Osman Sharif, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources
The agreement aims to enable the (IFAD) office in Sudan to achieve a strategy in advancing the economic level of rural women and improving their income level as well as enhancing the role of women and youth in the countryside in the agricultural and animal production process, and providing scientific and technical assistance that contributes to improving the income of poor families
 
The agreement also aims to expand (IFAD) activities in the country and increase funding opportunities and close monitoring of projects, which maximizes valued its benefit
It is worth noting that the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, and its membership includes (187) countries
