Economic Development Sector reviews a report on the operational performance of the Port of Sudan and its development plan

The Economic Development Sector reviewed in its meeting today, at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, chaired by Mr. Dr. Ibrahim El-Badawy, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, a report on the operational performance of the Port of Sudan, for the period from October to December 2019, and its development plan
 
The report pointed out that the productivity of most of the activities of the various maritime ports authority during the period from October to December 2019 had recorded positive deviations compared to the same period of the previous year, where productivity per ton for both general merchandise, dry bulk, petroleum products and container transported tones showed positive results, an increase of 30%. The port development plan included optimizing the available resources, providing modern infrastructure, and providing and sustaining the environment and maritime safety and security, providing professional human cadres in the maritime transport industry, deepening the social responsibility of ports and opening them to the community
 
The meeting recommended seeking to develop the work system and clear the containers in the port by benefiting from the experiences of the counterpart countries, using technology and modern systems, and training and qualifying the port workers.
