The Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk assured Sudan's readiness to develop cooperation with the COMESA Organization for Development of Sudan, the States member of the organization and the African continent, this came when he met today in his office in the Council of Ministers, a COMESA delegation headed by Mrs. Chelsea Kapuiba, Secretary General of COMESA, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Madani Abbas Madani The Prime Minister affirmed Sudan's support the Tripartite Agreement on Trade, reiterating the government's commitment to overcome obstacles to attract domestic and foreign investments COMESA Secretary General Chelsea Kapuiba said in a press statement that her visit to Sudan comes at the head of a high-level delegation that includes all COMESA institutions to discuss with the relevant institutions in Sudan in order to maximize the benefit from COMESA programs, indicating the economic reform that comes in the priorities of the transitional government is consistent with the objectives of COMESA Noting that the meeting discussed the priorities of cooperation between Sudan and COMESA represented in agriculture, facilitating trade, developing transport and modernizing path ways and crossing points between Sudan and other countries She added that the meeting touched on the importance of promoting and developing ports to cross and flow trade from Sudan to other countries Mrs. Chelsea Kapuya affirmed that COMESA is ready with all its institutions to work with Sudan and find funding from COMESA Development and Trade Bank to implement infrastructure projects, women development and capacity building
