The Cabinet issued a statement on the events in Khartoum State today Tuesday 14 of January 2020, Where Minister of Culture and Information Mr. Faisal Muhammad Salih, explained that some areas of the capital witnessed a rebellion of the forces of the operations of the General Intelligence Agency, where some of their units stepped out to the streets and set up barricades and fired bullets in the air, indicating that the intelligence agency had issued a decision to demobilize Operations Authority After the amendment that occurred to the law of the agency and converting it to a body to collect information, however some units rejected the financial compensation decided by the official authorities in exchange for the demobilization and considered it less than they should receive
 
The Minister of Information stated that the events took place in the Kafouri area of Khartoum North and Soba and the headquarters of the Operations Authority east of Khartoum International Airport, and a limited protest movement took place in Al-Ubayyid. The armed forces and other regular forces have dealt with the situation and are working to secure the streets and neighborhoods
 
And he added "There have been no casualties between citizens and the regular forces until now, while the responsible authorities continue their efforts to persuade the rebel units to surrender themselves and their weapons to the regular forces”, noting that the armed forces and other regular forces reassure the citizens that they are able to resolve the rebellion and secure the citizens and establishments and he said " In the meantime, we ask the citizens to stay away from these specific sites and leave it to the regular forces to secure the situation"
