Dr. Hamdouk affirms Sudan’s keenness to enhance cooperation relations with the UAE

Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok affirmed Sudan’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation relations with the United Arab Emirates to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, on his meeting today, Tuesday 14 January 2020, in his office in the cabinet, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Anwar Gargash, in the presence of Minister of Cabinet Affairs Ambassador Omar Bashir Manis
 
 
Dr. Anwar Gargash clarified in a press statements that the historical relations that link his country with Sudan are rooted and supported by the presence of 100,000 Sudanese residing in the United Arab Emirates, indicating that the Sudanese community is a positive and productive community, and his Excellency said that his country attaches great importance to supporting Sudan in the transitional stage, pointing to the great appreciation that he received from Sudanese officials for the Emirates role in supporting Sudan in all fields
 
 
Dr. Gargash explained that he touched on the nature of the challenges facing Sudan at this stage, noting that he was convinced that Sudan would cross this stage with all solidity and strength, adding, "Sudan is heading towards a promising stage", and he said that the UAE is looking to build partnerships in all sectors with Sudan, and that the meeting touched on situations developments in the region and the importance of Sudan returning to play its active Arab role
 
 
Dr. Anwar Gargash expressed that his visit to the country comes in the context of identifying the reality of the situation on the ground and in the framework of exchanging visits between officials in the two countries, stressing his country's keenness to support Sudan in many of the priority files in the transitional phase, especially in the economic and investment field, referring to The Sudanese unique experience in the partnership between the military component and the civilian component to cross this stage successfully
 
 
Dr. Gargash added that we are all confident that Sudan will pass the transitional phase safely and surpass the challenges facing it, indicating that this will be done with the will of the Sudanese, the support of brothers, and the support of the international community
 
 
In his response to journalists' questions, Dr. Anwar Gargash said that the meeting discussed bilateral relations and the strengthening of prospects for cooperation between Sudan and the UAE, including coordination in many regional and international issues, explaining that the meeting touched in general on the situation in Libya, indicating that the two countries share concerns about the situation in Libya and they stress the necessity of a political solution to the Libyan crisis
 
On Emirates investment projects in Sudan, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Emirates explained that there is a set of priorities that are related to strategic projects and infrastructure projects around which a dialogue is taking place between the two countries and many countries, and he said that the meeting touched on the opportunities and capabilities that Sudan enjoys in the fields of investment and the importance of encouraging foreign and Gulf countries to invest in Sudan
