The Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk met during his visit to Eritrea, Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, at the Presidential Palace in Asmara. The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation held joint talks with the Eritrean side, which included discussing bilateral relations and areas of joint cooperation on various issues of interest to both countries.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk held closed talks with the Eritrean President. For his part Minister of Cabinet Affairs Ambassador Omar Bashir Manis, , said in press statements that the relations between the two countries are strong, the minister pointed out that the visit comes within the framework of communication with the Eritrean brothers, pointing to the warm welcomeness by the President and the Eritrean people to the Prime Minister and the delegation accompanying him. Stressing the keenness of the government to strengthen bilateral relations and future cooperation between the two brotherly peoples in various fields, he pointed out the role of the State of Eritrea in achieving peace in Sudan and hosting the peace conference in eastern Sudan
In a related context, Prof. Intisar El Zein Saghir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research congratulated Eritrean women on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Eritrean Women's Union, praising her heroics and her active contribution to the Eritrean revolution. Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Hashim Al-Taher Sheikh Taha, , said that the relations between the two peoples are historic and have many common bonds.
