EU provides humanitarian aid to Sudan worth 55 million Euros

The European Union announced that it provided Sudan a humanitarian aid worth 55 million euros (60 million dollars). This came at a press conference of the High Commissioner for Foreign and Security Policy, and Vice-President of the European Commission, Mrs. Federic Mogherini, followed the EU Foreign Ministers meeting with the Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdok

In this regard, Mogherini stressed the EU's support for Sudan's political and economic transition, noting that the European ministers exchanged views with the Prime Minister on the needs of the transitional government requiring EU support
She hoped that Sudan would write a success story that would inspire the rest of the people of the region, Africa and the world at large
