Prime Mnister confirms transitional government commitment to protect the religious freedom

Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk affirmed the commitment of the transitional government to promote and protect human rights and religious freedoms, pointing out that Sudan has signed an agreement to open a country office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the country Four of them were appointed, including the first female foreign minister in the country's history
 
 
This came during a meeting with Ambassador Samuel Brownback, Ambassador at Large for Religious Freedom at the US Department of State, in the presence of Ambassador Omar Seddik, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Ambassador Ilham Ibrahim, Assistant Undersecretary for Political Affairs. Prime Minister Brownback has called for efforts to remove the country from the list of state sponsors of terrorism
 
For his part, Ambassador Brownback expressed their aspiration to work with Sudan to protect religious freedoms and other issues of common concern
