Prime Minister Participates in the UN Climate Summit

The prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok attended the opening session of the UN Summit for Climate, today Monday 23 September 2019, convened by UN general secretary the world leaders, heads of state and government to present concrete and realistic plans to enhance their National Discrete Contributions and to reduce climate change
 
The summit aims to raise the level of global ambition to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement and to intensify action that can reduce climate change and what refers to gas emissions
 
The meeting was attended by the General Secretary of the Supreme Council for the Environment and Natural Resources, the most important outcome of this meeting is the commitment of developed countries to increase their financial contributions to double and the commitment of all participating countries to reduce their emissions of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases in line with the reduction of emissions in the coming era, Sudan has tabled to the Office of the UN General Secretary Special Envoy the Sudan Emissions Reduction Plan and the National Adaptation Plan, affirming Sudan's support for many initiatives, including the transition to renewable energies
