Cabinet reviews the priorities of the next phase
The National Prime Minister, Dr. Mohamad Taher Aila, issued Thursday, a decision appointing Engineer Dr. Abass Alshikh Mohamed Saleh as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals
The decree has directed the Ministries of Minerals, labor and Administrative Reform, Human Resources Development and other related parties to take the necessary measures for the implementation of the decision
The Cabinet Chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Tahir Eila has reviewed in its regular meeting it held on Thursday 21/March/2019 government priorities for the upcoming phase.
The said priorities were set as follows: according necessary attention to the issues of people's livelihood, delivering basic services, taking measures to increase revenues and control public spending, focusing on the policies related to employment of youths, and developing their capacities and skills, addressing their issues, starting to address structural imbalances of the economy, to increase production, and upgrade productivity, towards realizing products and national commodities value added for improving their competiveness , to access traditional foreign markets as well as open up new markets for them via a strategic partnership with the private sector
The priorities include attracting foreign investments, while encouraging the national investor to employ the idle capacities of the economy, while availing job opportunities for national cadres through these projects, reviewing the performance of government companies and public institutions and authorities to put them on track and liquidation some companies and enlisting the remaining ones only in strategic areas.
The priorities also include according attention to the banking systems in terms of organizing and supporting them through opening the doors of shareholding and increasing the capital of specialized banks, and enable them to provide the necessary funding for the effective sectors of the economy.
Addressing the issues of mining, overcoming technical and administrative obstacles, providing services at the mining sites, enhancing monitoring role, promoting production and gearing it towards export via the official channels, giving attention to oil production in the country, supporting the accelerated program of oil and gas production, safeguarding regular flow of electricity supply to all sectors, as well as according the necessary attention to the industrial sector and solve all its problems, in a manner that realizes added value of national production and support exports and import substitution,
The priorities also included according attention to the development of major agricultural projects to increase production and towards achieving self-sufficiency of the basic commodities and afterwards setting up towards export, giving attention to transport sector to surmount the current crisis and push it towards wider prospects of development (air, sea, transport etc.).
According attention to civil service, in terms of reform and development along with effecting the principle of motivation and accountability, to continue the accomplishment of the state organs reform program along with completing the implementation of the National Dialogue Conference recommendations, supporting the various regular forces to play their role in maintaining peace , security and stability and border control to prevent smuggling.
Going ahead with supporting peace process through enhancing and improving Dialogue with all parties, strengthening relations with Sudan's external surroundings with all its components, employing external relations in support of the national economy, addressing corruption issues, enhancing transparency , accountability, and speeding up litigation proceedings without delay
Rationalizing spending on official foreign tasks , reducing the number of participants and delegations, and confirming the approval of the Council of Ministers upon the travel of government authorities , institutions and companies, effecting transparency in inviting for tenders and confirming the approval of the Ministry of Justice in all cases.
The Council listened to a report from the Minister of the Council of Ministers / Ahmed Saad Omar on the regulation of the work of the Council of Ministers and its mechanisms, along with the procedures and guidelines organizing meetings and their session and arrangement
