The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers organizes a forum on the role of finance in social development and the fight against poverty

Within the framework of its series of forums, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers organized on Wednesday 30 January 2019 a forum on the role of finance in social development and the fight against poverty, under the theme "Together to alleviate poverty." The Forum addressed the experience of the Bank of Savings and Social Development. Whereby the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Ahmed Saad Omar addressed the forum who paid great attention to the role played by the bank by providing microfinance and supporting small producers, stressing the state's interest and sponsorship of these programs, in its belief in reducing poverty and improving the standard of living of low-income people
 
The Minister of Social Security and Development Widad Yaagub pointed to the role of small producers in supporting the economy of the country, calling for more attention to this category and work on developing the experience of microfinance
 
It should be noted that during the forum a paper was presented on the role of the Savings Bank and Social Development in the development of the social economy, and another one on the performance of the bank according to the axes of the reform of the state apparatus
 
The Forum recommended the need to attract more fund to the bank to be able to reach the largest number of targets, and also recommended the importance of drawing an investment roadmap taking into account the comparative and preferential advantages in each mandate to increase production and productivity
