The Council of Ministers held its regular meeting on Sunday 25 November 2018 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mutaz Musa Abdullah. The Cabinet approved the draft amendments law for the year 2018 (taxes and customs) presented by Mr. Mustafa Hawalli, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. In order to achieve justice and eliminate distortions by abolishing customs and tax exemptions, with the exception of the capital goods used in the investment sector. This necessitated the necessary amendments to the exemptions contained in the customs, taxation and investment laws.
The Council of Ministers also approved the draft of the Statistics Law for the year 2018 and the draft law to monitor and review the Holy Quran for the year 2018 presented by the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Ahmed Saad Omar.
The Council of Ministers approved two memoranda of understanding presented by the First Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources Development and the Ministry of Civil Service in the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of training, development, consultation and other civil service affairs, and the second between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Industry of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for Industrial Cooperation.
