The Social Development Sector authorizes the performance report of the Ministry of Information, Communications and Information Technology in 2018

The Social and Cultural Development Sector of the Council of Ministers was inaugurated on 21 November 2018 under the chairmanship of Mrs. Mshaer Ahmad Al-Amin Al-Dulab, head of the Social and Cultural Development Sector at the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Education and Public Information in 2018.

The meeting praised the report and included achievements, especially the issuance of licenses for the fourth generation of telecommunications and the launch of its services in the country as well as cover the area populated by 77% and the increase of public mail outlets to 189 ports in addition to complete the development of the second version of the portal of the Government of Sudan electronic and linking the number of 55 electronic services.

The sector recommended the development of the capabilities of media personnel to continue training, rehabilitation and exchange of technical expertise, as well as enhancing the role of the media internally, regionally and globally, speeding up the completion of the digital broadcasting project, completing the digital supervision and expanding the coverage of radio broadcasting with modernization and rehabilitation of radio studios.

In a related matter, the meeting approved a memorandum of understanding in the field of communication and information technology between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Sudan and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in their desire to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two countries. Experiences and participation in local, regional and international seminars and workshops held in the two countries, as well as cooperation in the harmonization of legislation and laws that support the legal environment in the field of telecommunications.
