Technical Committee for the Economic Development Sector recommends the rehabilitation and upgrading of the railway sector

The Technical Committee of the Economic Development Sector of the Council of Ministers recommended the rehabilitation and upgrading of the operation of the railway sector, addressing the problems of the performance of the maritime and air transport sectors and the interest in the national roads and its maintenance as well as the completion of the construction of the port of Al-Khair as it represents a strategic project that contributes to increasing the movement of exports and imports

The Committee recommended in its meeting today, Monday, 12 November 2018, under the chairmanship of Mr. Omar Farajallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, to increase the working hours of the porters operating in all the sea ports in the country, with the need to increase the number of ferries ferrying citizens, especially in the state of Khartoum and the major cities in the country

The meeting reviewed the report of the Ministry of Transport and Urban Development for the year 2018 and its plan for 2019 aimed at developing and reducing the cost of transportation of goods and citizens and removing all obstacles hindering the flow of traffic between the states as well as completing the network of roads, railways, Infrastructure in the field of transport and urban development in accordance with international standards and its adoption as a national treasure that is preserved and protected by law
