Technical Committee for Governance and Administration discusses drug control efforts for the year 2017
The technical committee for the governance and administration sector in the Council of Ministers reviewed Tuesday 6 November 2018 under the chairmanship of Mr. Abubaker Awad Hassanein, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, a report on the current situation of the drug problem in Sudan and the control efforts for the year 2017.
The report contains the illegal cultivation of cannabis plant, the increase in drug trafficking rates in Sudan, the increase in drug rates, especially in the students' sector, the efforts exerted according to the supply and demand axis, the adoption of the National Strategy for Combating Drugs, the plan of eradicating illegal cultivation of narcotics, blocking the smuggling of narcotics, And the Drug and Drug Control and Control Plan.
The Technical Committee has made several recommendations, including intensifying the media awareness of the dangers of drug abuse, the collapse of community mechanisms at different levels, the implementation of alternative development programs in cannabis cultivation sites in the country, and working on the latest drugs detection agencies and accelerating the establishment of the National Council for Combating Drugs.
On the other hand, the Committee discussed the performance report of the Ministry of Presidency of the Council of Ministers for the year 2018 and the plan of 2019.
