Technical Committee for the Social Development Sector reviews the WIPO Copyright Treaty

The Technical Committee of the Social and Cultural Development Sector reviewed the Cabinet at its meeting on October 8, 2018 under the chairmanship of Dr. Taher Hassan Al-Taher Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education The WIPO Convention on Copyright, which deals with the protection of literary and artistic works, the protection of works and the rights of its authors in the digital environment.

The meeting stressed the need to join the treaty as it promotes the legal framework in Sudan and strengthens Sudan's position to join the World Trade Organization, as well as the additional rights guaranteed by the treaty to the copyright holders, which extended to include the digital ocean.

The meeting also discussed a report submitted by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health on all policies aimed at enhancing cooperation within the government and between its various sectors by ensuring the harmony of the state's policies and various institutions and eliminating the obstacles and institutional obstacles to the success of various programs and projects to reach comprehensive health coverage.

On the other hand, the technical committee heard from the Undersecretary of Health about the 65th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, which will be held next week for the first time in Khartoum.
