The Prime Minister, Mr. Moataz Mousi Abdullah, affirmed Sudan's keenness to strengthen Arab-African solidarity and to continue its support to the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa by all available means in order to achieve its desired objectives.
This came during a speech on Wednesday, 26 September 2018, the opening of the third meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa for the year 2018. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that Sudan would benefit from the services of the Bank in the areas of technical support and implementation of regional linking projects between Sudan and neighboring African countries in the fields of electricity and the establishment of markets for border free zones and promote trade with the South
For his part, Eng/ Yousef Al-Bassam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Development, said that since its establishment until 2017, the bank has been able to provide financing to Africa totaling more than five billion four hundred million dollars, benefiting 647 development projects and 736 technical aid operations. The bank has increased its capital by 50%, as well as the development of the system of governance and expansion in the fields of private sector financing and Arab exports to African countries.
