West Darfur State is located in the Sudan's far western borders. It is delimited by North Darfur State in the north, Sout Darfur State in the east and southeast and Republic of Chad in the west and southwest. Area: 1531682 kilometers square. Population: 2,086,282 persons Animal resources: 8083599 heads. There are 813 Basic Schools, 45 Secondary Schools, 156 nomad schools and 4 IDPs. Most important towns: Zalingei and AlJineina which is the capital of the State.
