Taha and Machar address intermingling conference |

The Vice President of the Republic Ustaz Ali Osman Mohammed Taha and Vice President of GoSS Dr. Riek Mashar addressed this day 14/7/2010 in Aweil the opening session of the Second Forum of Intermingling States in participation with a number of ministers, states' governors and civil society forces.
The Vice President of the Republic praised North Bahr Al-ghazal government for its good preparation of the said forum, pointing out that the forum is considered a follow up of Kadugli Forum and extension to a number of forums convened in different country's states, explaining that these forums strengthen security and achieve development and good relations particularly among the intermingling states, pointing out that the economic boom specially trade is greatly linked to provision of security. On the other hand the Vice President of the Republic admitted there are some security problems among intermingling states, explaining that deliberation on security issues in open meeting before mass media does not mean that Sudan suffering from lack of security but he explained that security is key pillar for development and actual coexistence among the components of society and country, referring that the security tensions have decreased after the first forum of intermingling states convened in Kadugli, stating that there is no absolute security but there are some security problems have its reasons, underestimating the dangers of security problems where he said that these problems are just tribal disputes that can be controlled via consultative meetings and coordination between security organs and native administration. Ustaz Ali Osman Mohammed Taha directed Abeyei Administration to coordinate with Ministry of Interior, government of Southern Kordufan, Ministry of Interion in GoSS and Security and Intelligence Services to collect information and take required procedures for exchanging information to control security movements that destabilize security in the area. On the other hand Ustaz Ali Osman Mohammed Taha welcomed the coincidence of forum convention with coming back of trains movement between North and South, considering that Aweil train is not only dedicated for carrying goods and citizens but also to convey symbolic senses of unity between North and South. Taha sent a message to those who think that the developmental activities in the South were too late as the time is so short before referendum where he affirmed the government's concern to execute these projects regardless the outcome of the referendum because development has no specific time selected by people and confirmed that Sudan will be united with its sentiment and peaceful coexistence. On the other hand the Vice President of GoSS Dr. Riek Mashar considered the hosting the forum by North Bahr Al-Ghazal state as manifestation of peace in reality in coincidence with arrival of peace train to Aweil, asserting the need to download Kadugli Forum decisions to the ground, unveiling that that GoSS supported North Bahr Al-Ghazal state with 288 million Dollars and expressing his appreciation for the high representation of the Federal Government but he attributed the absence of 11 GoSS ministers supposed to attend the conference to heavy rainfall. Dr. Riek Mashar explained the lack of legal side in execution reconciliation conferences and said that GoSS in the context of execution of reconciliation conference has established Ministry of Legal Affairs in the frame work of decentralization of legal administration. Dr. Riek Mashar confirmed the importance of the said conference in enhancing peaceful coexistence, stability and development in North Bahr Al-Ghazal state, referring to selection of Aweil for convening the conference for its significance in intermingling among the neighboring states and enhancing national unity, confirming the importance of execution and following up decisions issued in Kadugli Forum and tackling them to deliberation according to the determined axes, strengthening coordination between the national organs and GoSS and forming organ assigned to strategic planning in GoSS for its significance in tackling issues and continuous follow up.
